Safety

Since the 2008-2009 academic year, several safety measures have been put into place for the three buildings which make up our campus. Parents and staff alike have supported our efforts and have expressed their satisfaction regarding our new safety policies.

Opening and Closing Times

Hours during which the gray middle gate is open:

- From 7:30 to 9:10

- From 2:50 to 4:25

Opening times on Dornal/Fulton Streets :

The passage way between Dornal and Fulton Streets will be open until 9:30 in order to allow parents with children at both the primary and nursery schools to avoid having to retake Victoria Street. It will be reopened from 2:30 to 3:30.
All secondary and collegiat-level students must enter and exit the campus on chemin Queen Mary ONLY. Students are requested not to ring the bell at the primary school gate.

In case of an evacuation
The Fire Prevention Service has visited our campus and has approved our new safety procedures. In the case of an evacuation, school staff will follow the necessary procedures to ensure the safety of our students.

Students arriving early or late (Secondary/Cégep-level students)
We ask that students respect the school timetable. Students may safely wait in the rear courtyard from 7:30 to 9:10 and in the front courtyard at other times during the school day. During the winter season, students will be welcomed indoors.

If a student has to leave school during the day, he or she must provide the grade-level counselor with a written request in the carnet de liaison which has been signed by a parent or legal guardian. The note must also indicated when the student will return to school.

Traffic on Dornal Street (nursery school) and Fulton Street (primary school)
Dornal and Fulton Streets are closed to traffic before 9 :00 a.m. You are asked NOT to park in front of the bus stops on Victoria Street and in front of the houses located on these two streets. The police will fine anyone who does not obey the traffic laws in these areas.

Infirmary (Secondary/Cégep-Levels)

Parents or legal guardians coming to pick up their child from the infirmary must report to the main reception area (visitors’ entrance on chemin Queen Mary)

The entrance on chemin Queen Mary is the main reception area for staff, parents, and visitors.
