Communication with parents

CiMF’s primary objective is to offer a quality education, to instill social awareness and responsibility, and to encourage personal and academic rigour. In order to achieve this, frequent communication with parents is vital. It is with this in mind that we have developed a system which enables us to communicate with parents in real time so as to relay information more effectively, to find solutions more quickly, and to avoid crisis situations.

CiMF parents may communicate with faculty and staff via their child’s carnet de liaison. This booklet is given to each student at the beginning of the academic year and allows parents to correspond with teachers, to follow their child’s academic progress on a daily basis, and to be kept abreast of school events. A school newletter is also e-mailed to families each week to inform them of up-coming events.

Our school website is an essential means of communication, in particular during an urgent situation (such as a snowstorm). It is also a means to obtain information from the Vie Scolaire and to follow students’ work and results (viescolaire.net or ENT).

Many of the members of the Association des Parents d’Élèves (APE) serve on varioius school committees. We are also in regular contact with members through a monthly coffee hour which is held at both the primary and secondary school levels. Numerous exchanges throughout the year with the APE executive committee also help to facilitate the flow of information between parents and the school.
