End-of-Term Meetings are announced as early as possible so as to enable as many families as possible to attend. The dates at the end of the third (final) grading term are set in order to leave sufficient time for parents to appeal the conseil’s decision. Computer software allows CiMF to set the dates in a way so that teachers are not scheduled for meetings taking place on the same day and at the same time.

End-of-term meetings take place three times a years from 6ème to Seconde and twice a year for première and terminale students.

The meetings are held to:

  • answer questions and handle issues dealing with the class as a whole

  • go over each student’s academic results

  • suggest the best possible orientation for the student at the end of the year

Those attending the end-of-term meetings include:

The headmaster or his/her representative. This person chairs the meeting.

Faculty members

The head guidance counselor (CPE) or a grade-level counselor

Parent-Teacher Meetings

A parent-teacher meeting is scheduled in either September or October for the 6ième to Seconde levels. The meeting begins with a general assembly with the administration. Parents then meet with their child’s head teacher as well as with other faculty members. Teachers present their individual subject matter, objectives, expectations, and suggestions. In Première and Terminale, the head teacher organizes the meeting by contacting parents directly.

At the end of the first term, a second parent-teacher meeting is scheduled in December by subject matter. This meeting allows parents and teachers to discuss the student’s academic progress in the various subject matters.
